The Malvern-Hot Spring County Library supports the right to choose books freely for ourselves and, along with the ALA, is sponsoring Banned Books Week, September25th-October 1st. This week is intended to remind us not to take our freedom to read for granted, and that we have the right for ourselves to decide what to read, listen to, or view. We will be showcasing books that have been banned or threatened and distributing booklets and bookmarks, while supplies last. Stop by and see our display and sign up for our door prize drawing! American libraries are the cornerstones of our democracy. Libraries are for everyone, everywhere, and because libraries provide free access to a world of information, they bring opportunity to all people. Now, more than ever, celebrate the freedom to read at your library! Read an old favorite or a new banned book this week.
