Homeschool Club

The Homeschool Club is organized and facilitated by Annabelle Gardner.  The program is designed for students grades Kindergarten through 6th grade and has a strong focus on reading, literature, and art.  Regular group meetings are held in the library's Community Room, but there are special events scheduled throughout the year that take place in other locations.

LEGO STEAM

Description:   A 8 week workshop that will challenge them to think creatively and problem solve while using LEGO. Students will have opportunities to build their cooperation skills as they work together on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) based challenges. They will also build confidence in their own intellectual abilities as they work individually to complete challenges.

Dates: March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17, 24 [all classes at 1:30pm for grades K-6]

Spring Theater : Students present their own version of ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ Practices to be held at 3:00pm after each LEGO STEAM class (March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17, 24).  The final performance will be held at another location to allow for more space.

2017 Fall  

Story Art: A close look at the wonderful art of children's storybooks and the creative authors and illustrators behind them. Using the story's art as inspiration, students create their own artwork or recreate something special from the story. 

Story Art Dates: Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct. 2, 9, 16, [all classes at 1:30pm for grades K-6]Reception: Oct 24th, 5-7pm / student presentations at 6pm

Forest Study - Identifying Arkansas Trees: Instructed by Forester Clif Crawford on location at the Malvern River Park
