Mid-Ark Regional Library System
2020 Bookmobile Schedule
(Effective January 24, 2020)
Our bookmobile program began in 1955 and continues today with the mission of bringing library services to area patrons and students. It has numerous public stops at local community centers, gas stations, restaurants, other businesses, and gathering places. It also visits nursing homes, elementary schools, daycare and Head Start centers, and private religious schools - places which cannot make routine visits to the library.
The Mid-Ark Regional Library Bookmobile is headquartered out of Malvern-Hot Spring County Library. It serves Cleveland, Dallas, Grant, Hot Spring, and Saline counties. It offers new or replacement library cards, check-outs, check-ins, holds, assistance with ebooks, Birthday Club individual or institutional sign-ups, hot spots, and Wi-Fi internet. Please call 501-332-5441 or email email@example.com if you have a request or any questions.
**Please Note: If you fill an application out for your child through their school, we will need 2 proofs of address (e.g. driver’s license copy and a piece of mail stapled to theback of the application) before we can process it and present them with their card.**
The Bookmobile is also a mobile hotspot; ask the driver for the WiFi password to connect and surf the internet, do your taxes, research school projects, and watch cat videos.
The check-out period for bookmobile material is 60 days for all items except hot spots. Each Hot Spot checks out for 30 days. They cannot be re-checked and must be returned in-person to either the bookmobile or the main branch. Patrons signing check-out contract must be over 18 with a state ID and library card in good standing to check out a hot spot. Only one hot spot at a time per family.
What is the Bookmobile?
The Bookmobile is a truck containing a mobile library owned by the Mid Ark Regional Library System. It serves the 5 member counties of the region (Cleveland, Dallas, Grant, Hot Spring, and Saline), by providing access to library services for patrons who may not otherwise be able to access them. The bookmobile offers a wide range of books, audiobooks, movies, and mobile hot spots for checkout; users may call the Bookmobile Coordinator to request specific items be delivered to a given stop, or visit the online catalog to place a hold.
Using the Bookmobile
Citizens of all five member counties (Cleveland, Dallas, Grant, Hot Spring, and Saline) may use the Bookmobile's services at any public stop. You can get your library card, or use your card from any of our member libraries! Materials borrowed from the Bookmobile are given a 30-60 day circulation period.
